PZ Pošip Čara

Discover the PZ Pošip Čara, the oldest producer of the native Pošip white variety. Indulge in an unforgettable journey and taste of Korčula island!

PZ Pošip Čara is the oldest producer of the native Korčula white variety Pošip, founded in 1984. Čara is located in the heart of the island of Korčula, a little place of hardworking people who live, work and breathe for the vine. A green oasis with a view of the sea and fertile Čara soil has preserved one of the most beautiful stories about man, wine, and vines since ancient times.

More than half a century ago, Čara was declared the cradle of the native island variety Pošip, which in 1967 received the status of the first white wine in Croatia with protected geographical origin. About twenty years later, the modern Pošip agricultural cooperative was founded in Čara, which continuously creates – the original – the first natural and thoroughbred – Pošip.

Čara produces wines from Pošip and Rukatac white grape varieties.

Visitors can have a tasting and wine cellar tour guide to experience their native whites firsthand.
