The Boškinac winery is the result of a logical sequence of family tradition in winemaking. Ancestors of Šuljić-Boškinac diligently built vineyards and nurtured the production of wine for centuries, and the wine cellar became the cornerstone of the family way of life.
Grape varieties have changed, and wars have blown through the Novalja fields – but the vineyards have remained an indestructible source of subsistence. The winery therefore gives life to family values, but also offers new products and possibilities. Today, Boškinac winery has about 30,000 grapevines of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Gegić, Chardonnay and Sauvignon planted on six hectares of land. Mision of Boškinac winery is the production of Gegić, and they aim to make some of the finest wine from Croatian indigenous cultivation through various forms of vinification and aging.
Boškinac wines have awakened considerable interest on the market, and that’s in no small part thanks to cuvee C. Sauvignon and Merlot, which is poured in some of Croatia’s most prestigious restaurants and the recipient of multiple national awards and recognitions. All Boškinac winery red wines sit in small oak barrels for two years, and they emerge on the market fully ripened after 3-4 years.
Boškinac winerys wish is that wine lovers feel the strength of the southern winds and our rock island in our wines, but also the elegance of a moderate temperament, which we achieve through the significant effort that our vineyard demands of us.
