The story of the Benvenuti winery is a story of family and tradition. Located in the quiet Istrian town of Kaldir, with a view of the nearby Motovun, the Benvenuti family cultivates three native varieties:
- Malvasia Istriana,
- Teran and
- Moscato.
Throughout history, these varieties have given the best results in Istria. On these foundations, they produce wines whose type reflects the richness of the vineyards in a series of specific micro-locations.
One of them, San Salvatore, is the heart of our varieties. The terraced configuration and the white earth, along with the special microclimatic conditions, give the grapes here a character that will be reflected in the wine in emphasized minerality, freshness, and the full expression of all the characteristics of the varieties.
These characteristics are present in all our wines, from primary and aged Malvasia, through fresh and harmonious Teran, to intense sweet wines rich in pleasant acidity.
In this way, they want to convey the territory they live in and from which they live to every wine lover. Ideally, they will do this among the ripe bunches of our vineyards, in the cellar, in the tasting room, or in the accommodation for those visitors who want to enjoy Benvenuti wines and experiences for more than one day.
