Coronica Winery
Discover the family-owned Coronica winery! Prepare to be astounded by their award-winning wines in their exquisite terra rossa vineyard estate near Umag! The tradition of growing vines in the Coronica family began four generations ago. The estate of the Coronica family is located near the tourist town of Umag on the northwest coast of Istria.
The youngest member of the Coronica family, Moreno, together with his father Ottaviano, starts with a more modern way of processing grapes and wine.
The Coronica family has about 20 hectares of vineyards in the long-known wine-growing area of Grande Bosco. Their vineyards on red land – terra rossa – grow mainly native varieties:
- Malvasia Istria,
- Teran
And international varieties:
- Merlot,
- Cabernet Sauvignon.
Great attention is paid to maintaining the soil’s natural fertility as a non-renewable resource and a prerequisite for growing healthy and resistant vines.
Visitors can have wine cellar guided tours and wine tasting that includes one of the most awarded and respected wines from the Coronica family winery.
