The Mihalj family winery from Kutjevo has nurtured the tradition of growing grapes and producing wine since 1953 when Ivan Mihalj arrived in Kutjevo and bought vineyards at 3 locations: Mačevo brdo-Vidim, Zaječovac and Pod križem.
They currently manage 4.5 ha of vineyards where:
- Graševina,
- Rhein Riesling,
- Traminer,
- Cabernet Sauvignon,
- Portugieser,
- Merlot.
They specialized in ecological viticulture where fertilization is performed with 100% organic manure, and the grape harvest is done manually.
Their wines have earned many awards and their winery is recognized as one of the best in Kutjevo, and throughout Croatia.
Wines can be tasted at the winery. Besides tasting, they offer accommodation with views of the vineyards of Požeško-slavonska county, also known as Golden Valley.
