The production of grapes and wine in Ponikva on the peninsula of Pelješac has been a Miloš family tradition for many generations. Production is based on the indigenous variety Plavac Mali. Today, Miloš winery owns 15 hectares of vineyards on some of the highest quality positions of the Pelješac peninsula. Miloš vineyards are situated between the steep cliffs of the Prapratno bay and the village of Ponikva.

The vineyards are raised on sandy soil, formed on the cliffs of the dolomites. Five more hectares are in preparation. Hand processing of vineyards and ecological production demand maximal attention to every detail.

In the very village of Ponikva lies Miloš winery, everything for the preparation, finishing, bottling, and storage of wine is there. Miloš winery is specialized in the production of exclusive wine from Plavac Mali variety. They make a selection of grapes based on the position and preparation of the vineyard, the year of the harvest, way the grapes were picked, the weather and clearly the technology in the cellar. This means that every type of wine demands a different procedure. In Miloš winery they make different types of wine: dry, semi-dry, semi-sweet, and natural dessert wines.

A total understanding of Plavac Mali and its natural environment has given Miloš family the opportunity to produce wine in a completely unique manner. For over 20 years, the quality of their wines has been attracting the spotlight of domestic and foreign critics. It’s thanks to that very spotlight that they have positioned themselves at the very top of the Croatian wine scene. Some of their wines, aside from being successful in Croatia, have also attained good results in some of the most demanding wine markets as in the US.

The factor that makes all Miloš wines unique is a strong sensation of the nature on Pelješac peninsula (an aspect of the terroir), and the Plavac Mali variety. The very things that are prized in eno-gastronomic circles around the world.

Miloš Stagnum
A dry red wine. Stagnum is considered by many to be the best Plavac Mali wine. Stagnum vintage 2006 won 92 points at the International Wine Challenge Library Collection. This renowed wine from legendary winemaker Frano Miloš is among the best that Croatia has to offer.

Miloš Plavac
Dry red wine made from Plavac Mali grapes from the steep terraced vineyards of the southern slopes of the Pelješac peninsula. Only autochthonous yeasts are used in the fermentation. During the whole process the wine lives in a large, old, Slavonian oak barrel. It is unfiltered with minimal quantities of sulfites. This wine is a pure reflection of the variety and terroir of its place of origin.

Miloš Olive Oil
Production of grapes and wine in Ponikve on the Peljesac peninsula is the tradition of Milos family for several generations. Their production is based on indigenous varieties Plavac mali. Vineyards have been built on sandy soils, formed on dolomite rocks. Fully understanding Plavc mali and its natural environment opened up space for a unique wine production. With wine production Miloš family has started limited production of olive oils. And same as with wine this olive oil is a reflection of their life philosophy.
