Kurtalj Winery

Kurtalj winery in Plešivica grows a range of traditional and international grape varieties and offers visitors a chance to taste their prized wines.

The Kurtalj family-owned winery is located in the beautiful region of Plešivica and has for generations been engaged in viticulture, winemaking, and hospitality.

The family owns 3.5 hectares of vineyards. Planted varieties are:

  • Graševina,
  • Sylvaner,
  • Rhine Riesling,
  • Pinot Gris, Portugieser,
  • Pinot Noir and
  • Chardonnay.

The old, traditional varieties of the region are grown as well, such as:

  • Kraljevina,
  • Ranfol (Štajerska belina)
  • and Veltliner.

In the cellars, the wine is still maturing in old oak barrels. In addition to the old cellar, built of stone with bolts, there are also a new cellar and a tasting room built with the aim of modernizing and expanding the winery and offering visitors a chance to taste some of their prized wines.
